Promoting an Active South Carolina:
Physical Activity: On the Fast
Track to Health
This conference will familiarize participants with state-of-the art practice
and science in physical activity, including national trends and issues,
and innovative programs. Participants will learn the scientific and theoretical
basis for physical activity promotion, and gain insight into building community
support for physical activity.
New this year is the formation of three physical activity topic “tracks” which
will allow for in-depth coverage of three areas related to physical activity
promotion. This year the tracks are:
- Policies Promoting Physical Activity
- Creating Active Environments
- Group Fitness Instruction

Walking in Divine Health
Breakout sessions provided participants the opportunity to learn where to begin
when introducing physical activity and wellness programs into a church setting.
The discussion of the Seven Pillars of Health provided information needed for
obtaining vibrant health - body, mind and spirit.

The 2004 Conference familiarized participants with state-of-the art practice and science in
physical activity, including national trends and issues, and innovative programs. Participants
learned the scientific and theoretical basis for physical activity promotion and gained insight into
building community support for physical activity.

building community support for physical activity.
